Description:
Client looking to add a pension actuary to their staff. Ideal candidate would be at least an EA with a consulting firm background and have the ability to do many tasks. These tasks would include managing a book of business, possibly being involved in cross selling services as well as ideally being groomed to eventually manage the group. Will also be responsible for training some actuarial staff. Duties will also include: Valuation process for retirement and/or health & welfare liabilities using actuarial modeling software. Preparation of annual valuation reports, participant notices and government filings. Review the calculation of individual benefit distribution amounts. Translate written descriptions into mathematical formulae. Manage workflow for multiple clients and projects simultaneously. Manage multiple client relationships and ensuring that clients are kept informed of issues impacting their plans as well as maintaining and developing positive and profitable client relationships. Stay current with legal rules, actuarial standards and other requirements. Ideal candidate will have Enrolled Actuary credentials required. Member of the American Academy of Actuaries required. Associate or Fellow of the Society of Actuary preferred. Thorough and broad understanding of ERISA, the Internal Revenue Code and applicable regulations as they pertain to retirement plans essential. Familiarity with health and welfare plans especially FAS 106, GAS 45, Medicare Part D, Article 47 and general reserving methods preferred. Client management/consulting skills required. Experience with computer programming and/or data manipulation preferred (preferably Excel, Visual Basic, Access and Fortran). Health and retirement benefit experience preferred.
