Reinsurer in the Northeastern US region has a need for a Risk Modeler. The incumbent will be part of the corporate actuarial function building an maintaining actuarial models. The position will entail developing and enhancing complex methodologies to allow the organization analysis of potential risks, monitoring and managing risks and defining capital needs and prices for the risks. This role will take leadership in the majority of the work and will work under minimal supervision. The positions will involve cross functional interaction including with the management team. Candidates should have significant Property & Casualty insurance/reinsurance experience with at least 1-2 years of Risk Modeling experience. Candidates with an Actuarial designation is preferred. Candidates should have effective communication skills with the ability to communicate actuarial information to other disciplines and a thorough understanding of the impact of management decisions on the overall company results. The incumbent should also be comfortable with working with cross functional areas and external consultants.
